7 good reasons to choose an EverFocus  system
1. Improved video image quality
The resolution of HD-CCTV cameras exceeds the resolution of regular CCTV cameras by far. Moreover, the 16:9 widescreen format not only meets the demand of many customers for wide-angle images, but also matches the image format of modern high resolution displays.
Depending on scenery and requirements, one HD-CCTV camera can replace 2 to 4 regular CCTV cameras (or even more low resolution cameras).
2. System instruction and training
The HD-CCTV recorder EPHD 08 and all follow-up models incorporate the well-known programming of the latest generation of EverFocus digital video recorders. Besides some slight system-specific differences (e.g. video format), EPHD 08 provides the same intuitive graphical user interface as the “Paragon” and “ECOR” DVR series, reducing the effort of system instruction and training to a minimum for installers who are already familiar with EverFocus DVR products.
Just as in conventional CCTV systems, both camera and cable installation are effected with coaxial cable and BNC plugs, requiring less training effort than IP video systems.
3. Installation
EverFocus HD-CCTV technique utilizes 75 Ω coaxial cable, also used for conventional CCTV video installations. RG-59 cable is suitable for distances up to 100 m, while low-loss coaxial cable types allow for distances up to 250 m.
The EverFocus HD-CCTV system makes use of BNC coaxial plugs also used for regular video systems. The HD-compliant BNC plugs offered by EverFocus (K-BNC-HD) can be installed with common BNC crimping tools.
All EverFocus HD-CCTV cameras are equipped with a test video output enabling both camera and lens adjustment with common test video monitors.
Existing coaxial cable installations can be used for expansion and upgrade of video installations (provided that the system requirements as regard to cable attenuation and length are fulfilled), resulting in significantly reduced cost, compared to the installation of a network infrastructure for a megapixel IP video system.
4. Functionality
Normally, IP cameras with full HD resolution offer high system architecture flexibility if the appropriate network infrastructure is available.
This flexibility is likewise achievable with an EverFocus HD-CCTV system. Thanks to the dual stream technology of the HD-CCTV recorder EPHD 08, network access to the cameras is possible both in full HD resolution and with reduced resolution for low-bandwidth networks and DSL connections.
However, the advantage over an IP HD system is the network being strained only if necessary – the recording function of the EverFocus HD-CCTV system doesn’t require the network at all.
5. Value for money
The HD-CCTV recorder EPHD 08 provides high performance combined with the latest processor technology.
All 8 connected cameras can be recorded either at full resolution (1920 x 1080) with 12,5 IPS each or with real time (25 IPS) at 1280 x 720 resolution.
Despite this high data rate, a recording time of more than one week can be realized with permanent recording (with 8 TB harddisk capacity). Making use of event recording (motion detection, contacts) and a reduced image rate, even a recording time of several months is possible.
An IP camera system with the same image rate and resolution would be able to reach this recording performance only with significant additional hardware expenses.
6. Integration
Thanks to the EverFocus PowerCon software, the EverFocus HD-CCTV technology can be seamlessly integrated into existing analog and IP video systems, enabling the expansion of existing video installations without cutting back on the overall functionality.
7. System security in exterior areas
As a result of IT security regulations, many end users – especially within the industrial and official sector – don’t allow any network installation outside the secured areas of a building. In such environment, IP-based megapixel video systems can be realized only with significant effort.
The EverFocus HD-CCTV system offers a genuine alternative. The installation of HD-CCTV cameras in exterior areas does not allow any unauthorized access to the IP network structure.
